When I tell you yesterday was a day! It was a day! The kids were being kids, I barely slept, and it was a madhouse trying to get the kids to bed the night before. All of that combined with the the kids literally wrestling in the middle of a showing at the theater last night really sent me over the edge.
Another mom who was sitting across from me noticed all over my face that I needed some help. At one point my son got on stage with another kid. My husband was working so it was the kids and I. Back to the story, this mama at the end of the night gave me a hug and said "you're doing a great job"! She hugged me so tight that my eyes started watering. I truly believe that the right hug and make problems disappear. Mind you this is after she said that she would watch my daughter if I wanted to take my son for a walk so that he could get a change of scenery.
This post is to remind you to help other mamas especially when you see they truly need assistance. All it takes is a hug or even a smile to help. I will remember last night for a while to come.
The same evening I saw a mom with 3 kids and one of whom was an infant. I offered to help her get her other kids situated. As a military mom it can often get tiresome having to do some things alone but it's super important to remember these two scriptures.
Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.
Psalms 121:1-2 I look to the mountains: where will my help come from? My help will come from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
Before I went to bed I had to pray for sweet sleep and Holy Spirit reminded me of 2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness". Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. I just know that there are times where I have to draw from the Lord because I can't do it alone. I pray that this has blessed you and that you share this with someone who needs something as simple as a hug.
